Fable of peace through equality instead of egalitarianism

In a distant forest, deeply hidden beneath the shady treetops, animals of all kinds lived side by side. A strict law of equality reigned among them, established by the ancient owls, the wise guardians of the forest. Every animal, large or small, feathered or furry, had equal rights to food, water and protection from danger.

On a sunny day, the animals gathered to discuss equality. The owl who led the meeting proclaimed, “In our forest, no animal shall have more or less than another. The resources of the forest belong to us all equally.”

At first the animals were happy with the idea of equality. But it soon became apparent that not all animals had the same needs. The hares complained that the large animals were taking their carrots, while the birds complained about the lack of grains. Discontent was spreading and the peace in the forest was in danger of being shattered.

One day, when tensions were at their peak, a rabbit, a squirrel and a bird met under the old oak tree to discuss the tense situation.

Rabbit: “I don't understand why the big animals always take our carrots away from us! We have just as much of a right to them.”

Squirrel: “And I hardly get any nuts because the birds fly everything away. That's not fair!”

Bird: "You may have your problems, but we birds also have our own worries. The berries are constantly being picked away by other animals."
During the argument, the fox, who had been listening intently, listened from the background.

Fox: “My friends, I understand your concerns. Maybe I can help you. I can sense dangers and warn you in good time. In return, I would like to receive a small share of the food to do my part in keeping the forest safe.”

The other animals were initially skeptical and asked the owl for advice.

Owl: “Let's give it a try. If the fox can protect us from danger, it could be beneficial for all of us.”

This is how an unusual community was formed: the fox, the squirrel, the rabbit and the bird. Each member contributed in his own way to the well-being of the forest, and the fox received his share of the spoils for his services.

Through this unusual collaboration and solidarity, the animals were not only able to capitalize on their strengths and compensate for weaknesses, but also found a way for the fox, despite being a carnivore, to become an integral member of the community. The forest flourished and the animals learned that true equality does not mean that everyone has the same thing, but that everyone has what they need to live together in peace.

Essence:

True equality is not about making everything the same, but about valuing diversity and leveraging everyone's strengths through solidarity and collaboration. Even with different needs and abilities, community and balance can be found if everyone is willing to share and support and respect one another.
