Given the political trends and individuals, criminals or defendants as presidents (Putin, Trump, Netanyahu, etc.) and treacherously untruthful candidates like Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU), I fear that the technology will primarily mutate into a tool for propaganda, control, and censorship. Facial recognition in crowded places, dragnet searches on social networks, ideologically indoctrinated AI models, exclusion of the poor through expensive payment access, systems for monitoring social scoring, autonomous killing machines (military and police technology), monitoring of increasingly enforced digital payment transactions... It feels like many of these developments have already begun.
